Termly Performance

Term 1

Target grade: B3 ~ A1 (27 or above) - This is due to last year which my Science got 67 (B3)
Results obtained: [62.5] 25 / 40
Grade obtained: B4

This term test focused on Chemistry. There were a lot of careless mistakes, which is a bad habit of mine. I would also say that I did not prepare adequately for this test, as I did not really memorize all the required memorization. In education, memorization is a process that cannot be left out, whether it is Integrated Humanities, Mathematics, Chinese, English and of course, SCIENCE. I learned that I must at least study or revise anything the teacher had taught us so as to be prepared adequately for any examinations. I cannot blame the teacher, as the teacher's job is to only guide the students, not paying attention to only one but to a whole class of 30 ++ students. I certainly done badly in term test, as 5 more marks would make me just a border-line pass grade or an A1. Also, I learned that every mark counts. Due to my carelessness, I had dropped from an possibly A2 grade to a B4 grade. 2 more marks I could have obtained B3 and 4 more marks I could have obtained A2. Loss of marks due to carelessness is certainly a waste.

I will study better and really go and 'memorize' the facts for my next term tests, especially End of Years Examination. Also, I would try to reduce the careless mistakes I always do by being more careful.

Term 2

Target Grade: B3 ~ A1 (27 or above) - Should be appropriate enough
Results obtained: [76.9] 30 / 39 (1 mark due to a voiding of a question - default mark was 40)
Grade obtained: A1

I am quite satisfied with this term test, which is focused on Biology - Sexual Reproduction in Human Beings. Before this term test, I did revise and go and memorize EVERYTHING that is required. I actually recopied a section of important, summarized notes which was 7 pages long from the 20-page long notes that teacher gave us. I found that by writing everything down on a piece of paper and memorize it actually helps a lot in memorizing. I think I may use this for my future 'memorization process'. I do feel that my studying did pay off, especially studying a topic which requires LOAD of memorization, and I finally felt how was it like to achieve something in which you really worked for. The 'feeling' was good. It was a happy feeling.

Yet again, minor careless mistakes. Although the careless mistakes were reduced, there were still some. I seriously need to change this careless attitude of mine. It really TAKES AWAY A LOT OF MARKS in my other subjects, which is really, really a BIG waste. But however, I was quite satisfied with this term's test results, and I will continue to work harder for the next term test.

Term 3

Target Grade: A2 ~ A1 (29 or above)
Results obtained: [82.5] 33 / 40
Grade obtained: A1

I am okay to say, that I AM satisfied with this term's test result. I studied and revised, like the last term, which I copied notes from teacher's notes again (which was 4.7 pages long). This term's test focused on Biology - Ecology and Physics - Light. I studied more on ecology, as the teacher said Light would be easier. Actually, there is nothing to be happy to get such marks, as this majority of the students scored in this Exam. Nevertheless, my marks are considered near-above-average. Again, I had... careless mistakes..... of 4 marks. Oh how can I change this attitude.... I am starting to think maybe I do not have enough time to finish, because maybe after I finish time is almost up and I usually just flip through the pages without specific reassurance and accuracy. Maybe that is why I usually have careless mistakes in my tests....

Of course, I think I have to prepare more for End Of Year Examinations, as I think that the topic "Light" is taught very less in this term. The topic "Light" itself has a lot of things which haven't been tested, which I thus do not know where my standard is. End of Years Examination is coming, and I will definitely need to work harder.

Gotta be a mugger!
